United World’s Belgian partner Beerschot unveiled and confirmed their plans to build brand new training ground facilities for the first team and the Youth Academy at the University area in Antwerp. This prestigious project will cost €7m Euros and will be financed by the club shareholders and “Sport Vlaanderen”, the sport administration of Flemish Government. The club hopes to move into the new facilities at the start of the 2023-2024 season.

The first team and the Youth Academy will share the new building with their own separate changing rooms, fitness facilities and medical cabinets. There will be a Players Lounge at one end and a multifunctional sports hall for the academy and the Top Sport School at the other. There will also be offices for the technical staff and youth collaborators inside.

The total cost of €7m Euros will be divided by the club shareholders’ extra investment (according to the current distribution of the shares) and a grant from Flemish Government. Important in all this is that the money will not come from the club’s sporting budget but will be released by the owners.

The brand-new building and its facilities will further intensify the collaboration between Beerschot and Top Sport School and benefit the development of our youth players.

Beerschot and the City of Antwerp signed an ‘agreement in principle’ about the granting of the leasehold of the grounds at the University Area. The club will submit the building permit by the end of this month and hope to start with the building works at the end of the current season. During the building works first team squad will continue with their training sessions at the University area. However, a couple of our youth teams will have to move temporarily to a new location.

With this big investment Beerschot commits itself to further professionalism, high standards and development quality of youth.
